What is Exomind?

A New Approach to Wellness

Exomind is a cutting-edge brain stimulation treatment using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to activate and strengthen brain areas involved in mood, focus, and emotional regulation.

Backed by over 40 years of research and 17,000+ studies, TMS is one of the most established non-invasive treatments in modern psychiatry.

Fast Sessions

Short, efficient treatments designed to fit into your schedule, typically completed in under 30 minutes with no downtime.

Targeted Stimulation

Exomind uses a multi-target, enhanced version of TMS to stimulate a key brain area involved in mood, focus, and emotional regulation.

FDA-Approved

Exomind uses the same FDA-approved TMS technology licensed for Depression and OCD, and is used off-license for wellness.

What Can Exomind Do?

TMS is a well-established, non-invasive brain stimulation technique with decades of clinical research behind it. Exomind is a newer type of device that uses the same underlying technology. Research specific to Exomind is still emerging, and as with any intervention, results vary. Some people experience:

Better mental wellbeing

Enhanced focus

Reduced perceived stress

Greater clarity in decision making

Improved sleep quality

More mental energy

How Exomind works

Rewire Your Brain

Exomind stimulates the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), a key region responsible for:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Focus and attention
  • Decision-making and motivation

What can happen next:

  • Neural pathways are strengthened
  • Brain connectivity improves
  • Neuroplasticity increases

Over time, this can lead to meaningful improvements in mood, clarity, and resilience.

Exomind is available at the London Psychiatry Clinic in Harley Street, London.

Exomind treatments feel quite relaxing. You will be comfortably seated in a chair. You will be fully awake and alert.

When the device is active, you will feel a gentle tapping sensation on your scalp. Most patients describe this as unusual but not painful. The system is precisely calibrated by our trained specialist to be effective and comfortable for you. You can relax, read, or listen to music during the entire session.

Exomind builds on proven, FDA-approved TMS technology. TMS itself has thousands of studies supporting its effectiveness, and many clinical studies report improvements in focus, mood and emotional balance with TMS. Although the Exomind device is much newer and research is still emerging, several studies have reported positive effects in line with TMS findings. For example, in a recent pilot study, participants self-reported improvements in mood, confidence, mental energy, feelings of stress, depression, and anxiety, as well as sleep onset and quality. Another study found significant improvements in sleep among participants who completed six Exomind sessions compared with a control group. While there needs to be more research on Exomind, the mechanisms of action are believed to be the same as TMS.

Yes, it is very safe. Most people tolerate the treatment well. The most common side effects are mild scalp discomfort or a temporary headache. More serious effects, such as seizures, are extremely rare and typically only a concern for those with a history of epilepsy or specific medical implants.

TMS therapy has been FDA-approved for the treatment of depression since 2008 and has been used to help thousands of patients. The Exomind device is FDA-approved and holds CE marking for depression and OCD. It is also registered with the MHRA as a medical device in the United Kingdom. However, it is not currently licensed for wellness purposes by any regulatory body, but it may be used off-license for wellness under the supervision of a suitable medical professional.

Exomind is non-invasive (no hardware enters your body) and non-systemic (it doesn’t affect your whole body like medication). The most common side effect is scalp discomfort at the treatment site, which typically fades after the first few sessions.

Exomind is manufactured by BTL Industries, a medical technology company that also develops devices used in aesthetic medicine. As a result, Exomind is sometimes offered at aesthetic clinics for general wellness.

At the London Psychiatry Clinic, Exomind is provided within our Neuromodulation Unit, led by psychiatrists and neuroscience specialists. All patients receive a 50-minute Exomind assessment by a psychiatrist to determine suitability, select the most appropriate protocol, and explore other evidence-based treatment options where relevant.

Exomind may not be suitable for everyone. The treatment is not recommended if you:

  • Have implanted medical devices near the head (e.g. pacemakers, cochlear implants)
  • Have a history of seizures or epilepsy (unless cleared by a neurologist)
  • Are pregnant or have a brain tumour
  • Are undergoing acute withdrawal from alcohol or drugs
  • Have been diagnosed with a severe or unstable psychiatric condition

If you’re unsure whether Exomind is appropriate for you, we recommend speaking with a medical professional. Our team can also assist in liaising with your GP or specialist if needed.

Because every person’s brain is unique, results vary. Some patients report feeling a subtle shift in their mood, sleep, or energy levels within the first two sessions.

However, the most significant and lasting relief often builds over several weeks of consistent treatment. This is not an instant fix but a “re-training” of your brain’s neural pathways. We will monitor your progress with you every step of the way.

No. The procedure is non-invasive and generally very well tolerated.

Yes. There is no downtime, and you can resume your usual activities immediately.

Side effects are usually mild and temporary, such as scalp tingling or a brief headache. More serious side effects are rare.

This treatment was specifically developed for patients who have not found adequate relief from other methods, such as medication or therapy.

You may be an ideal candidate if:

  • You have been diagnosed with depression (or anxiety/OCD).
  • Your current treatment isn’t working well enough.
  • You are experiencing side effects from medication that impact your quality of life.
  • You are looking for a long-term, non-medication solution.

The only way to know for certain is to come in for a confidential assessment.

Your journey starts with a simple, confidential consultation with our specialist.

This is not a sales meeting; it is a medical review, conducted by a trained medical doctor. We will listen to your history, understand your goals, and confirm if ExomindTMS is the appropriate path for you. We will help you understand the process in detail and discuss all your options.
