Our Approach
At the London Psychiatry Clinic, our mission is to create a safe, confidential and empathetic environment founded on principles of profound respect and compassion for each individual.
We’re here for you
At the London Psychiatry Clinic, we understand that talking about emotions and mental health can feel difficult. Our experienced team of clinicians and support staff provide compassionate, confidential care in a safe and supportive environment.
Our approach is evidence-based and open-minded. We’ll help you find the right clinician to support you, your child or a loved one. Your specialist will then develop holistic treatment plans that use a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to your personal preferences, lifestyle, and routine.
Whether you prefer in person appointments or online, we’re here to help you access expert, compassionate care.
When you contact us
Whether you reach out to us by phone, email or over WhatsApp, our friendly team will be able to give you the right information and make booking a consultation or an assessment as easy and straightforward as possible.
Our medical secretaries are caring, dedicated and highly experienced, and they take the time to listen. If you are unsure what kind of help you need, they will ask the right questions to help you find it. They can also help if you are calling on behalf of a loved one, or trying to work out how to support someone close to you.
If you are a new patient and would like us to match you with the psychiatrist who is best for you, we take your particular needs and circumstances into account — your personal preferences, any previous diagnoses, a gender preference for your doctor, and your preferred language wherever possible.
Our doctors come from a range of multicultural backgrounds and are all fluent in English. Between them they also speak Spanish, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Urdu, Hindi and Telugu.
Our approach to treatment
At the London Psychiatry Clinic, you will work with highly trained and experienced psychiatrists who appreciate the complex nature of mental health conditions, and the distress that comes with them.
Our approach is evidence-based and open-minded, meaning that we develop holistic treatment plans using a range of approaches, depending on your personal preferences. We often combine therapy or medication with psychoeducation — providing education and support for mental health problems — and lifestyle interventions such as nutrition or exercise.
We encourage patients and parents to be actively involved in their treatment every step of the way. We also understand that some people find this overwhelming or too difficult, in which case we can take the burden off your shoulders by providing a supportive infrastructure.
We see mental health as being influenced by a range of biological, psychological and environmental factors. Science does not have all the answers yet, which is why we keep on top of cutting-edge research, and why every one of our psychiatrists is passionate about continuously following new scientific studies in their area of speciality.
Across the team we have a significant amount of collective experience and expertise, so we can offer expert advice and support for any condition. We also appreciate that you will often be the expert on your own symptoms and experiences, and we would like to work alongside you to create a personalised treatment plan that feels right for you.
When recommending a treatment plan, we typically discuss options involving a combination of:
Therapy
Sometimes we can deliver it ourselves, whereas in some cases we may suggest a specific therapist or psychologist who we think would be particularly suited to you.
Medication
In cases where it is required, or where we think it would make a significant difference.
Psychoeducation
Providing education and support about a condition and its symptoms.
For parents
Seeing your child struggle with a mental health condition can be heartbreaking. We understand that you want the best for your child, and that finding the right help and treatment can be confusing.
We have a team of highly trained child and adolescent psychiatrists and therapists, and we are here to give you clear, practical information so you can make an informed decision about the best way forward. Every child is different and needs to be treated as such, whatever their symptoms or diagnosis, and we can help you find the right professional for yours.
Children and adolescents often feel intimidated, embarrassed or shy about speaking to a doctor, and sometimes they find it hard to articulate how they are feeling. Our aim is to put your child at ease, and to pick up the subtle signs of a mental health condition that may not be obvious to an observer. Where appropriate we carry out a standardised assessment according to the latest guidelines, but we keep assessments flexible and tailored to the child in front of us.
If a condition is diagnosed, or other difficulties are observed, we develop a personalised treatment plan for your child. We discuss every available option with you and with them, so that your preferences are taken into account, and the plan takes an integrated approach aimed at helping your child reach their full potential — in their sense of wellbeing and self-confidence, their relationships, their social skills and their performance at school.
